Agriculture Survey through UNM- Occupational Therapy Graduate Program

Do you, or someone on your farm or ranch have a health condition, limitation, aging issue, or disability that affects working in agriculture? If so, researchers at the University of New Mexico-Occupational Therapy Graduate Program would like to invite you to participate in a survey. We are trying to learn more about the kind and number of health related issues being experienced among food growers. Your participation will involve answering survey questions that ask about health issues, activity limitations, impairments, or disabilities. The survey should take about 20-30 minutes to complete. Your involvement in the study is voluntary, and you may choose not to participate. There is no identifying information associated with this survey. The survey includes questions such as “What health conditions do you have?” You can refuse to answer any of the questions at any time. There are no known risks in this study, but some individuals may experience discomfort when answering questions. All data will be kept for three years in a locked file in Dr. Wilhite’s office and then destroyed. The findings from this project will provide information on farmer and rancher health issues that may lead to future services or interventions to improve farmer health. If published, results will be presented in summary form only. If you have any questions about this research project, please feel free to call Dr. Wilhite at (505)272-3324. If you have questions regarding your legal rights as a research subject, you may call the UNMHSC Office of Human Research Protections at (505) 272-1129. If you would like to participate in the study, call researchers at: 505-272-3324, leave a first name and number and we will call you back!
