Good morning beekeepers and honeybee friends, here are some items of interest.

Certified Beekeepers Program Now Accepting Applications, 2016
You are invited to apply for the 2016 Certified Beekeepers Program, in Albuquerque, NM. This comprehensive 2 year program provides quality education on backyard beekeeping in the context of responsible urban farming. Classes include supervised, hands-on-lessons, using both Langstroth and top-bar honeybee hives.

NMBKA Beekeeping Classes in Cooperation with County Extension
The NM Beekeepers Association has been busy visiting County Extension Offices around NM and meeting with beekeepers in each region of our State to get a better idea of the best way to support honeybees.

We still have 2 beginning beekeeping workshop this fall
1. Los Lunas Beginning Beekeeping Workshop, this Saturday from 10 am- 3 pm, TJ Carr and Marty Carr, Instructors. Free! There will also be the Valencia County Harvest Festival at the same time from 10-2, so there’s something for the whole family. Say hi to Mary Lee at the bee booth.

2. Silver City Beginning Beekeeping Workshop, October 24, 10 am-3 pm, Kate Whealen and Jessie Brown, Instructors. Free!

We had a fantastic time visiting with the Otero County Beekeepers and the San Juan County Beekeepers. Save the Date
The NM Beekeepers Association Annual Meeting will be February 6-7, 2016 at the Bee-utiful South Broadway Cultural Center, Albuquerque, NM; featuring artisans, vendors, the latest in honeybee research and beekeeping for our unique NM environment.

The American Honey Producers Association Conference will be in Albuquerque, NM on January 5-9, 2016, at the Embassy Suites. There will be a tradeshow, banquet and a packed schedule of events. Don’t miss this one!
Join the American Beekeeping Federation for a buzzworthy experience at the 2016 American Beekeeping Federation Conference & Tradeshow, January 5-9, 2016. The conference will be held at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, in Ponte Vedra Beach (Jacksonville), Florida. Begin your New Year with mild temperatures and hundreds of fellow beekeepers sharing experiences, best practices and research while making like-minded friends.
