We moved to just outside of Raton in May 2019. Any suggestions for bee species for 6700′?
Stop by the Honey Store on South 2nd they have local knowledge or will be able to point you in the right direction
Hi Becky, I got a call from Michael Decker in the Cimarron area who needs help with his bees. Any chance that you can help him or do you know other beekeepers in the Raton or Cimarron area I can refer him to? Thanks, Kate Whealen, Sangre de Cristo Beekeepers
We are at 7000 feet plus or minus here in Santa Fe. For me, the Italians have always done well here. I have italians, buckfast and carniolans. The Italians are always the most prolific and hearty. Its not a bad idea to try two different species if you are doing multiple hives and see how they do.
This might help. She is in Raton. Carries Honey and More Store
