@ Welcome Carry!
@ Hi Luther!
You and I have never met but we have emailed a couple of times re solar. I am down in Mayhill, we started a local group called “Southern New Mexico Beekeeper” I hope that you will join us. Look for us under the “Groups” section on the main page. https://www.nmbeekeepers.org/
Do you still have some used thermal panels?

@ Welcome Hans Wagoner!
@ Welcome J. Brian Smith!
Just south of ABQ, a few of us are going up. There is a small fee to cover port a potties etc. I went last year and had a great time and learned quite a bit. It is hands on, both top bar and Langstroth.
@ Hi Rob,
Where is Bosque Farms and how much is the seminar?
@ Good morning Dan and welcome to the NMBKA!
Don’t forget about Ken Hays seminar May 11th, up in Bosque Farms.
@ Hi John!
How are your bees doing? I hope that you have more nectar than we do down in Mayhill.
Please Join us at “Southern New Mexico Beekeepers” under the groups section on the main page.
@ Hi all,
Just got a call from NM Game & Fish. The person delivering the fences, Gerry, has a family emergency and will not be delivering the fences this week . We have tentatively rescheduled for May 29th in Ruidoso and May 30th in Cloudcroft. Hope the bears find other attractions until then…
@ Welcome to SNM Beeks. Glad to hear you are adding more bees here on the mountain.
@ Thanks Ralph. I’m gonna go to bosque farms the 11th for ken hays 1day outing also. Hopefully ill learn something that will help
@ I’d wait until the time comes to make that decision. The bees may tell you what to do buy their actions (like not using your syrup). @ Ralph thanks for the advice. Bees are still consuming about a quart a day. I’m gonna get another hive next month should I still give the new hive sugar water ?

We’ve been waiting on package bees we ordered by mail but were just informed by the supplier that they just had several shipments tragically cooked (killed) by UPS and will not be shipping any…[Read more]

@ Welcome to the NM Beekeepers Johnny. Since you are from Artesia you might want to consider joining the Southern New Mexico Beekeepers Group.
I found my bees were not interested in sugar syrup once they were finding nectar. If they are still consuming it readily, I would not remove it until their consumption slows down. Just my opinion.
@ Welcome to the NMBKA Manda!
@ Started a new hive about 5 weeks ago looked inside today and bees have been busy looks like every frame is covered. How long do I keep feeding sugar water ? I would appreciate it if somebody can give me some advise
@ Hi Rose!
